NEWS AND UPDATES - ASSISTANCE TASKS

Translation and editing, as well as the editing of old translations of Babaji Maharaja's works, is gaining new momentum. There is a new aspect to our publishing work that deserves a mention, in that we could use some help.

In ensuring the integrity of all these precious works, I would like to see all our working files contain one paragraph of transliterated Bangla followed by the English translation, something that'd allow for easy checking of integrity against the original. We need to have all of Babaji Maharaja's books keyed in.

I am doing this as I proceed with Bhakti-tattva-vijnana, I transliterate a paragraph and then translate the same. I find it an invaluable aid for many reasons, not the least due to my being able to move my eyes over and locate things in transliterated Bengali a whole lot faster than in Bengali script.

Everyone interested in transliterating these wonderful works of theology and rasa should kindly express their interest and get in touch with me.

I'll be happy to help you out with the above. You can even partake in this as a matter of learning Bengali script, ask for a lower priority transliteration task and take your time with it.

I don't have the time to regularly check each and every website for possible glitches that may have been introduced for one reason or another. I need help for periodically checking all our websites for for dead links and other possible glitches. Whatever doesn't work or works weird should be reported to me for getting it fixed.

Transcribing translations of classes by Sri Ananta Das Babaji Maharaja, translated by Madhumati Dasi or Advaitadas. You can check out samples of the two at and , respectively.

Must be able to type proper English that doesn't need extensive editing!

Familiarity with Indian accents on English.

With a staff change taking place towards the end of 2006, Gaudiya Kutir is in need of volunteers who have skills in accounting and / or diverse paper work in the U.S. framework of bureaucracy.

There are a number of routine tasks that can be time-consuming. Posting project announcements to different forums, sending routine notes to friends, following up on forums for themes of interest that would call for participation.

Trustworthiness, as this involves access to my member account. As such, this is only a task for people I know well.

Transliterating whichever books you are inspired to transliterate. There are some specific titles I'm working on I could use e-texts for, please contact and ask for more details if you're interested.

Familiarity with Sanskrit or Bengali script, knowledge of a transliteration scheme of choice.

A degree of familiarity with the languages that allows you to spot and correct mistakes in the original text.

Some kind devotees have donated towards the land, and some have extended themselves by offering a loan. With that, bundled with some work that has come in, we have already paid for the land – but have next to nothing for the house.

The total cost for the construction is 300.000 INR (5300€). Even 100.000 INR would get us started, we could get together the small basement, a toilet and a well with a hand-pump. Something to live in until the actual house can be built up atop the basement.

We would also be grateful if someone could borrow a substantial amount for a year or thereabouts to give us some time to raise more funds.

As the number of websites grows, the need to manage updates grows. Our update tasks are fairly streamlined, learning how to update each site is easy enough.

Basic knowledge of HTML and the use of an FTP client. Online availability, punctuality.

Skills using an image processing program of choice, optimizing images for web use. Other related skills.

• Data mining
• Editing
• Proofreading
• Peer review

Diverse for different tasks – there's something everyone can do, hop onboard!

Gaudiya Grantha Mandira hasn't seen its limits yet. There are many, many more texts you could key in. You can key in texts you have in your library, or we can look into providing you content to key in.
