Top that with the messengers of a number of online forums, and it adds up to a whole lot of communication. I type fast (100 WPM), but many letters take more thinking than typing.

Ongoing, albeit a bit late every so often. Sorry to everyone who've had to wait for replies! Please be aware that mails that are extraordinarily long or deal with particularly grave matters may take a moment to get a reply – I wish to give them the time they deserve.
There's a lot of recorded material that would be very useful in a text format, both for reading and in subtitling videos. Audio needs to be transcribed.

Status
Ongoing whenever people participate or there's something particular I need to transcribe for some purpose.
We have some books published, but lack the infrastructure to make them easily available on a wider basis. We also have materials that are basically publication quality, but don't have the resources to get them printed. E-books, then, are the natural solution.
• Dave has been looking into XML-based formatting languages that would enable us to produce e-books directly from a Wiki-styled setup where multiple editors can work on the texts at the same time.
