A repository of hundreds of searchable e-texts of important and often rare Sanskrit and Bengali texts that belong to the Caitanya Vaisnava tradition. Online since January 2001, I've participated since January 2002.
Active. Some functionality disabled due to outdated code since June 2006. I am working on a new site engine. The editors have kindly sent some of the incoming donations my way to support the work.
The site engine needs to be re-coded from a scratch. A new XML-based "root text format" needs to be developed. Full text search engine needs to be employed. I have a production schema for the new engine I need to start working on.

A good deal of time. This is a project that should be given a grant for – for editing as well as development work.
Gaudiya Grantha Mandira hasn't seen its limits yet. There are many, many more texts you could key in. You can key in texts you have in your library, or we can look into providing you content to key in.
Requirements
Familiarity with Sanskrit or Bengali script, knowledge of a transliteration scheme of choice.
Helpful
A degree of familiarity with the languages that allows you to spot and correct mistakes in the original text.
The Gaudiya Grantha Mandira has, since a long time, been running on an old, unworthy site engine that hasn't had the flexibility to be adapted to all our needs. Moreover, some aspects of the outdated code just fell to pieces last autumn with a software update, leaving some aspects of the site unusable.
The phoenix is rising from the ashes at last. A new and wonderful Gaudiya Grantha Mandira is in the works, and a great deal of functionality is already online! Please take it for a test drive and send us your precious feedback.
